They moved to within a point of 1st place Barrie and the number 2 seed in the playoffs with a 4-2 win Wednesday over the Sault Ste Marie Greyhounds.

The Troops scored 3 unanswered goals in the 2nd only to have the Greyhounds make it a one goal game in the third. The game wasn’t put away until Nick Moutrey‘s 2nd marker of the night with about three and a half minutes to go. Alex Henriksson and Nick Paul also scored for the winners and Jake Smith had a 33 save night on 35 shots.

Coach Stan Butler says the coaches have been working with the players on not losing confidence when things don’t go their way especially when you’re a playing a team like the Greyhounds that entered the game on a 12 game winning streak.

Defenseman Brenden Miller got an assist tying him for the most career points for a defenceman by a member of the Battalion.

The Troops are off until Saturday when they visit Kingston.
