Meal On Wheels Is Back

Many people including the Mayor were on hand to volunteer their time delivering food for the Meals on Wheels Program. Keira Brown is the Co-coordinator of Meals on Wheels and she says the program is a hot and frozen food program that helps people with an illness or a disability and has a hard time shopping.

Brown says the food they deliver can either be hot or frozen and is always nutritious.

She says volunteers are the ones who make the program successful. She says volunteers come to Cassellholme to organize the meals between 11am and 1pm and deliver the food to those in need.

This program started in Canada in 1963 in Brantford and began in North Bay, 7 years later.
