The North Bay Police Service have arrested and charged three people for mischief after reports of damaged vehicles, responded to an assault downtown, and want to issue a warning to anyone looking for a North Bay apartment on Kijiji.North Bay Police received numerous reports of damage to parked motor vehicles around the city. Following an investigation by the North Bay Police Service’s Street Crime Unit, police arrested and charged three individuals with numerous counts of mischief. Police are still investigating and are actively seeking two other individuals. Anyone with any additional complaints about damaged vehicles, that have not yet been reported to police, or anyone with information regarding these reported occurrences is asked to contact the North Bay Police Service or anonymously by calling Near North Crime Stoppers at (705) 476-8477

North Bay Police also responded to a report of an assault in a downtown bar this morning at approximately 2 a.m. A man attacked another man and then fled the scene on foot. Police located and arrested Adam Charles Sharkey of North Bay on Main Street a few minutes later. Following an investigation, police charged him with one count of assault causing bodily harm.

And the North Bay Police Service received information regarding an online classified ad scam. An advertiser on Kijiji.ca is offering an all-inclusive fully-furnished apartment for rent in downtown North Bay area which includes parking. The advertiser claims to be based in the United Kingdom, however, the fax number and phone number have different United States area codes. The North Bay Police Service advises anyone using Kijiji to search for a rental in North Bay, to read Kijij’s Avoiding Real Estate Scams page, (http://help.kijiji.ca/helpdesk/safety/avoiding-real-estate-scams) before they make contact with advertisers.
