Desrochers comes home for OUA career

Former Captain of the Sudbury Wolves Danny Desrochers has signed his letter of intent with the Nipissing Lakers Men’s Hockey Team.

Desrochers was born and raised in North Bay, and played with the North Bay Jr. A Trappers before spending five years in Sudbury.

He says coming home and choosing Nipissing was the right choice.

Desrochers says he wants to come in and produce right away in the OUA.

Head Coach Mike McParland says this is a big get for the team.

He says Desrochers is probably their most high profile Major Junior signing.

McParland says a lot of OHL players want to go to school close to home after four or five years away – and it’s fortunate that Danny’s home was North Bay.
