CMHA

Every first week of May for the past 65 years, the Canadian Mental Health Association has hosted Mental Health Week.

The organization kicked off the week this year with a “Beat the Monday Blues Morning Wave” Monday morning.

Executive Director of CMHA Nipissing Georges Kristolaitis says North Bay Police, Ambulance and Fire services as well as the mayor and a number of agencies came out to wave.

He says this week is designed to remove the stigma towards mental health and to teach people there is nothing to be afraid of.

To learn more about mental health and where to go if you need help, check out nipissingcmha.ca.

On that page will also be a list of other events happening this week.

Kristolaitis says that includes an education day, a free Chili Luncheon, a Stress workshop and a BBQ.
