Q: Do these songs sound familiar?

Matt Cardle performs “Amazing” written in 2009 by Martin Harrington and Thomas Leonard:

Now, here’s Ed Sheeran:

Those choruses are very, very similar IMO. What do you think?

 

Harrington and Leonard say they did reach out to Ed;s people to try and resolve this copyright issue before filing suit, but obviously things didn’t go in their favor. Bring on the $20 million dollar suit. Read this article from the Guardian for more info:

“The chorus sections of Amazing and the infringing Photograph share 39 identical notes – meaning the notes are identical in pitch, rhythmic duration, and placement in the measure,” the lawsuit reads.
