We remain under a heat warning this morning.

The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit says symptoms of heat related illness include rapid breathing, dizziness, fainting, rapid heartbeat and extreme thirst.

You can cool ff by moving to a shaded or air conditioned area, drink plenty of fluids and getting rest.

If you see someone who has a high body temperature or has stopped sweating in the heat call 911.

Also check on family, friends and neighbours who may be vulnerable to overheating.

Other tips include wear light weight loose fitting clothing, take cool showers or baths, put wet towels or your face, neck or arms, avoid strenuous activities between 10 am and 4 pm and if you are going outdoors wear sunscreen.
And with the heat warning in effect the city has identified several cooling centres including The Pete Polangio Arena from 7 am-11pm, The West Ferris Community Centre until 4 pm daily, The North Bay Public Library during regular business hours and the North Bay Transit terminal until 11:30. Air conditioned malls and grocery stores are also options.
