Chamber of Commerce

The president of the North Bay and District Chamber of Commerce says improved broadband internet service is needed in the North Bay area.

Jake Lacourse is calling for the province to impose a minimum standard of service of 5 megabits a second.

He says North Bay is fine but the rural area around North Bay needs to be better.

He says they are a district chamber so improved service is needed in places like East Ferris, Bonfield and Papineau-Cameron.

Lacourse says they need additional infrastructure support.

Lacourse says it’s a necessity for a business these days to have high speed service.
