Offiicials with the Laurentian Ski Hill board were on hand on Thursday to provide details on a major fundraising project to coincide with its 90th birthday.

They are putting on the Laurentian Apres Ski Party. The event goes Friday October 14th at The Grande downtown.

John Strang, spokesperson for the ski hill board, says it’s an important event and they need community support for the future of the hill.

He says if people don’t use the hill the community will lose it.

He says the hill is sustainable but fundraising initiatives like this one are needed to support the bottom line.

Strang says there’ll be no shortage of food at the event with various bars set up of poutine and gourmet items.

Strang says Cecil’s will have a couple of special beers at the event and 50 cents from every pint of house beer sold will support the ski hill.

As well, one lucky purchaser will get a jeep and they will also be raffling off tickets to see Billy Joel in New York.

Tickets for the event are 125 Dollars and a maximum of 300 tickets will be sold..
