The first remnants of a vision for the future Dionne Quints Home were unveiled last night at a city council meeting by Friends of the Dionne Quintuplets Home Museum Committee.

Vice chair Joshua Pride says the home should be where there’s plenty of foot traffic like the Discovery North Bay Museum but it should be part of an overall bigger heritage piece called an interpretive centre or a cultural centre.

He says for that to happen one major step must be taken that being an Ontario Heritage designation.

He says that would keep the home where it is, protects the building it’s located in and entitles the owners to tax and funding opportunities.

He says the home should have a vision and shouldn’t just be looked at as a financial number on a balance sheet to make things work

Also last night, the committee revealed they have 2600 signatures on their petition to keep the home in the area.
