North Bay Police have charged a half dozen people after a drugs and substances act search warrant was executed yesterday on Rose Avenue.

Four of the six charged are from North Bay and the other two from Toronto.

The charges include possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of marijuana and possession of property obtained by crime.

Police say they also seized a small amount of marijuana and cocaine and over $5,000 in Canadian currency.

The range in ages of those charged are from 18-55.
North Bay Police out with an advisory about what to do if you mistakenly call 9-1-1.

Police say don’t hang up as 9-1-1 calls are taken seriously.

Police when there is one they will attempt to determine if an emergency exists and to do that they will call the caller back.

If they don’t reach the caller, they will send police to the location of the call as they did on New Years Eve to investigate.

That call turned out to be from a decommissioned mobile phone in the Ferguson St. area.

Police say to prevent an accidental 9-1-1 call: keep your mobile phones away from children, do not give your old mobile phones to children; they are not toys, decommissioned mobiles can still be used to access the 9-1-1 service, when you’re not using your cellphone, turn it off, or lock the keypad, do not program your cellphone to automatically dial 9-1-1 and If your wireless phone is pre-programmed with the auto-dial 9-1-1 feature turned on, turn the feature off.

Check your user manual for instructions.
