NDP federal leadership candidate Charlie Angus was in North Bay yesterday.

He says he’s getting a positive response to his message of having a strong vocal opposition to the Trudeau government.

He says people want a feisty alternative to the Trudeau government.

Angus says he’s been all over the country listening to voters concerns about the key issues.

He says his campaign has a lot of momentum.

Angus says canadians are concerned about the disappearance of the middle class and the government needs to do more.

He says the middle class is disappearing despite the governments talking about the middle class so much.

Angus says the reality is we have more than 50 % of people working in many cities on short term contracts, burdened with student debt and no chance for a pension.

He says the government talks a good game but action is needed.

Angus says the government has to do more for the people at the bottom of the economic food chain as it does for those at the top.

Meantime, he says trade issues like softwood lumber and dairy are issues where the Trudeau government has to stand up and do more to protect Canadian jobs.

The NDP will choose its next leader in October.
