Key topics in education that are affecting students as they transition to post-secondary school is the focus at Nipissing today (Tuesday).

The university is hosting a one-day regional dialogue with 50 specialists, including guidance counsellors from all across Northern Ontario and recruitment professionals from Ontario universities.

“Guidance counsellors play a key role in helping students navigate the process of finding the school with the right fit for their post-secondary journey,” said Gemma Victor, manager of student recruitment at Nipissing. “It is vital that counsellors are connected with the university recruitment community and are updated regarding any changes taking place at institutions, so we are happy to help facilitate that dialogue.”

The session also includes a special presentation on preventing sexual violence on campus.

Officials point out Nipissing placed first in Maclean’s 2017 University Rankings issue for the category Steps to Prevent Sexual Violence.
