One person was taken to hospital Sunday morning after being injured in Laurier Woods, having told some hikers he was there for a couple days.

North Bay Fire and Emergency Services Platoon Chief Greg Kraft says fire and ambulance crews responded.

“Call came in, we had an injured party that had been in the Laurier Woods area. He had told some hikers he had fallen and had some injuries and couldn’t get himself out,” he says.

Kraft says they ventured quite a distance into the woods to get to the man.

“We responded and ambulance was also there, we went in with the stretcher about a kilometre, we were able to assess him, get him out and he was taken to hospital,” he says.

The call came in around 11 am Sunday.
