Another blown lead by the North Bay Battalion.

The Troops were up 3-2 late in the third before the Hamilton Bulldogs scored two goals to take the game 4-3, including the game winner with 39 secs remaining on the clock.

Head coach Stan Butler says missing a few veterans may have hurt their chances.

“Giving up goals at timely times which hurts our teams. Probably today late in the game, we’re missing McKenzie and Potts that are your shut down guys who play center.  You look at the faceoffs today, I think we were out faceoffed 42-24.”

Justin Brazeau scored two goals in the game and was named the match’s second star.

Daniel Walker had the other goal for North Bay, his 3rd of the season.

After the game the Troops made a trade, sending forward Daniil Vertiy (pictured) to the Saginaw Spirit for a conditional 15th round draft pick.

Vertiy scored 23 goals and 32 assists in 104 games with the troops over two seasons.

Next up, North Bay is home to league-leading Sarnia on Thursday night.
