Summer In The Park may be changing locations in 2018.

That information is contained in a financial report that’s going to Council tomorrow, detailing the $58,000 shortfall from this year’s festival.

The report says the committee believes a decrease in wristband sales was the poor long range weather and short term forecast leading up to the festival.

They say a very cold and rainy Friday and Saturday negatively impacting gate sales.

The report goes on to say the committee plans on going ahead with next year’s event with some unspecified modifications to programming and a new potential location, to reduce weather risk and overall staging costs.

It suggests the location of the headline concerts could be held at Memorial Gardens, which would decrease capacity tickets from 10,000 to 4,800.

The midway could then be moved to Thomson Park.

It’s estimated over 43,500 people attended the 2017 festival, from concerts to beach volleyball, the midway and daytime activities, over the course of the weekend.
