The North Bay Trappers have received honourable mention in the minor midgets rankings for the 2018 OHL cup.

The event will be held in March in Toronto and will feature 20 teams from Ontario and the United States.

Many of the players showcased in this event will be picked in the 2018 OHL Priority Selection.

The North Bay Dig Safe Minor Bantam AAA Trappers lost their final two games before the Christmas break to Nickel City by scores of 3-1 and 6-3.

Meantime, the Minor Bantam AAA Trappers split a pair with Nickel City on the weekend winning 6-2 on Saturday but losing 3-2 on Sunday.

Mathis Bernard led the way on Saturday with two goals and an assist and Nico Laforge had 3 helpers.

Both Laforge and Bernard had two points each in Sunday’s loss.

And the Nipissing Reader Minor Peewee AAA Trappers won two out of three on the weekend.

They defeated Sudbury 7-2 twice but lost the other match up with the Wolves winning 6-5. Mathieu Turgeon had 4 goals on the weekend while Nolan Newton had 3.
