An increase in employment in the area in December

Stats Canada reports an increase in employment in the North Bay area last month.

The local employment rate was 55.2 in December.

That’s an increase of 2.4 from same month in 2016.

Meantime, there was no change in the labour force, which remained at 31,300.

The figures include the City of North Bay, Callander, East Ferris and Bonfield.

Unemployment was suppressed because it was below the confidentiality threshold.
