North Bay OPP are reminding motorists to clear ice of their vehicle.

They say there have been a couple of incidents of flying ice from a vehicle causing damage to another vehicle.

In one case, a large piece of ice came off the roof of a pickup truck causing $5,000 in damage to another vehicle.

In the other case, a large sheet of ice flew off a pickup truck causing some damage.

No injures occurred in either incident.

Police point out they can charge people in situations like this including laying a criminal charge for criminal negligence.

(transport violations)
North Bay OPP report there were incidents involving two transports at the same location on Highway 11 in North Bay at different times on Wednesday.

The first at 8:30 am resulted in 4 lanes being blocked as the tractor lost the trailer.

The driver was charged with having an insecure load.

The 2nd around 10:30 am resulted in a transport losing two tires from the trailer.

Police say it’s the obligation of commercial motor vehicle drivers to conduct a thorough inspection before driving.
