A 38 year old North Bay man is facing several charges after police seized a sawed-off shotgun, ammunition and throwing stars on Thursday.

Police say a search warrant was executed at a Lakeshore Drive residence after they received information about the gun.

Among other things, the man is charged with careless storage and unauthorized possession of a firearm and assault police.

He was held for a bail hearing today.

In a separate case, an 18 year old Timmins man has been charged by North Bay Police.

The domestic violence investigation resulted in assault and assault with a weapon charges being filed.

Police say there were two separate incidents earlier this month, with no injuries.

North Bay OPP say a young driver from Goderich has been charged with driving a motor vehicle with liquor readily available and for having a blood alcohol level content above zero.

Police say they received a complaint that someone was bragging on snapchat about being on a bender.

The vehicle was located on the North Bay Bypass.

The motorist had his licence suspended for 3 days.
