Congratulations to Hayden Wice who has won our Ted Rogers Scholarship Fund Contest and has earned $1,000 towards his education!

We asked our listeners to nominate a young leader in our community deserving of a helping hand.

 

Here is Hayden’s nomination:

“Since grade 9 in high school Hayden has been a very active member in his school.

Morning announcement each day; editor of school news paper, volunteered to run a healthy eating program at school, and a member of the Free the children program( we Day) to help families both local and internationally.

Hayde was also a member of link crew, which is to tour new students and mentor them an easier high school transition.

Hayden has volunteered at the fall fairs and the big rodeo in Powassan for the past 6 years.

Hayden received the principals leadership award in both grade 8 and grade 12 for his leadership and being a great role model.

In grade 10 he won the North Bay rotary club award for student leadership and volunteering.

Hayden was a volunteer member of a student political group in North Bay to be a voice for youth in North Bay.

Hayden is happiest when he is helping make a difference for other people.”
