After a three game road trip last weekend, in which they picked up four points, the North Bay Battalion return home to the friendly confines of Memorial Gardens tonight.

They entertain division rival Mississauga.

Assistant coach Adam Dennis (pictured) says the teams play improved in their own end on the road trip and this week the goal is to get more offensive zone time.

“We saw fewer shots and that’s because we got more offensive zone time. When other teams are in their own zone for 20-30 seconds it’s harder to get that burst of energy to get down to the other end,” Dennis says.

Matthew Struthers, who didn’t play last weekend, is listed as day-to-day so there’s no word if he’ll be in the lineup tonight.

Dennis says games like tonight are key to having a good season.

“We don’t want to have any regrets by taking the night off. Teams are trying to get points and these are points that when we’re jockeying for position in the 2nd half you’re going to look to as if they helped or hurt you,” he says.

Tonight’s game is the Pink In The Rink game in support of the Canadian Cancer Society and breast cancer awareness.

Broadcast time is 6:55 pm on Country 600.
