Canada Post rotating strikes have once again hit North Bay.

It’s the second time the local Canadian Union of Postal Workers members have walked out since October 22nd.

“Negotiate not legislate,” is what CUP-W Local 576 President Keith Bradford says is their message is this time around. “The act of the government to come out to legislate us back to work takes away our right to free, collective bargaining.”

Ottawa tabled back to work legislation on Thursday.

“Basically it’s allowing the corporation to take the Bombardier model of managing where they just sit on their hands and wait for the government to take care of things,”adds Bradford.

The Federal government says they’re holding off on debate of the legislation to allow for a special mediator to try and help negotiate a deal.
