A winning weekend for the Nipissing hockey teams.

The Nipissing women scored a 3-2 shootout win Friday night over Waterloo then shutout Laurier 2-0 on Saturday.

On the men’s side, the Lakers defeated Laurentian 5-1 on Friday.

In women’s basketball, Nipissing won both of their games on the weekend, 65-61 over York and 61-48 over Queens.

The Nipissing men lost both of their games.

In the NOJHL, tonight’s game between the Powassan Voodoos and French River Rapids has been postponed.

The league says the Rapids’ bus was involved in a collision on Highway 64 early Saturday after returning from a game in Kirkland Lake.

There were no injuries, but a few games were postponed.

Tonight’s match-up, along with yesterday’s postponed game between Timmins and Powassan will be rescheduled.
