On a scale of one to ten, the North Bay and area snowmobile season was a ten.

That from Shawn Flindall, the marketing and communications director for the North Bay Snowmobile Club.

He told BayToday the typical season is eight to ten weeks long and this year it’s going to be 12 or 13.

“It could not have been better. We’ve been blessed with cold temperatures and consistent heavy snowfall. And that’s allowed us to keep in trails in perfectly groomed shape,” he says.

He says it’s also been great for the local economy as snowmobilers spent a lot on food, lodging and fuel.

Flindall says now that we’re close to spring users should expect more trail limitations and even closures.

He says the best advice is to know the conditions of the trails before you head out by checking the maps.
