A Rotary4Kids fundraising tradition is on the air on KiSS 100.5.

Kevin’s Longest Morning involves morning show host Kevin Oschefski broadcasting live for 29 hours.

This year’s Rotary4Kids ambassador is Gage Colnar.

His mom Shayna Desjardins says programs that benefit from the fundraiser are really important for her son and other kids, too.

“NADY provides opportunities for him to experience things like skiing and horseback riding, just like a typical kid would, but in a different ability,” she says.

President of the Nipissing Association for Disabled Youth, Jim Stewart, says the programs help kids communicate, socialize and be active in the community.

“We give them things to do and hopefully that instills enough in them that that carries on through when they’re adults that, yes, they can do what they want to do,” he says.

The broadcast will be at WJ Fricker for breakfast this morning, then moves to Canadian Tire and wraps up tomorrow morning at Burger World on Hammond.

Funds raised support local children with special needs and their families.
