A ceremony is coming up next weekend locally that’s a part of a global candle-lighting in remembrance of the lives of children that have been lost.

Carol-Ann Vautour is the chapter founder of the Compassionate Friends of North Bay Child Loss Support Group.

She tells BayToday this is their second annual event, and it’s quite unique.

“Our ceremony brings a lot of support and the feeling of family, comradery, understanding amongst us all because we’re all there for the same reason, we’ve all lost a child,” she says.

Vautour also says this is a world-wide event.

“It’s believed to be the largest mass candle-lighting on the globe, creating a virtual 24-hour wave of light as it goes through the time zones,” she adds.

The local event takes place next Sunday, December 8th from 6:30 pm to 9 pm at Indulge restaurant on Lakeshore.
