One of the largest annual international mining conference and trade shows in the world is underway in Toronto and 19 local mining and supply companies are there.

They’re a part of the Northern Ontario Mining Showcase pavilion, which is the largest exhibitor at PDAC 2020.

The event started yesterday and runs through Wednesday.

Officials say last years northern pavilion helped create 267 jobs across the north, while generating more than $24 million in increased sales for participating businesses.

Mayor Al McDonald is also at the conference and met with Federal Minister of Economic Development Melanie Joly yesterday to discuss the benefits of FedNor in our region.
