For the first time in six weeks a regular Tuesday night North Bay City Council meeting was held.

It was in virtual form due to COVID-19 and the importance of physical distancing.

Before the meeting started Mayor Al McDonald put forward support for those on the front lines fighting COVID-19.

“We would like to give a shout out to our frontline workers who have put themselves in harms way to keep us safe. You are truly our heroes. I want you to know that we all appreciate your efforts and are inspiring to all of us,” he says.

McDonald also put forward support to the people of Nova Scotia following the weekend shooting which claimed 22 lives.

“We stand you with unwavering support. On behalf of the citizens of North Bay we send out thoughts to the families and friends that have lost loved ones,” McDonald says.
