(impaired driving)

A 22 year old North Bay woman and a 55 year old Temiskaming, Quebec man have become the 27th and 28th motorists charged with impaired driving in the North Bay OPP detachment area this year.

The latest charges respectively were laid on Tuesday morning around 7:30 when police were called to investigate a traffic complaint on Highway 17 near North Bay and early this morning when officers were at a traffic stop on Pinewood Park Drive.

Both vehicles were impounded for seven days and the driver’s licences were subject to 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspensions (ADLS).

The Temiskaming male was also charged with possession of cocaine.

The impaired count was impaired by alcohol and drugs.

(road rage )

OPP say two cyclists were the victims of a road rage incident last Saturday morning.

One of the cyclists was almost struck by a white car on Highway 64 between Alban and Noelville.

Then later, in Noelville the cyclists confronted the driver at a gas station and an argument ensued and one of the bikes was kicked before the vehicle departed.

A few minutes later, the cyclists reported eggs and a glass bottle were thrown at them on Highway 535.

The two cyclists received cuts to their legs from the shattered glass, while another was thrown from the bicycle as a result of a punctured tire.

An arrest warrant for the driver who has been identified has been issued.
