TP North Bay is back for their annual toilet paper drive for the North Bay Food Bank.

Chair Ellen Faulkner says it’s little bit different this year and like everything else the campaign has been impacted by COVID-19.

“We couldn’t do it in May. We hoped to do it in September and go to various locations. We can’t go on location and do that this year. This is a great opportunity though,” she says.

Deb Marson, manager of the North Bay Food Bank, says donations through this campaign makes a big difference.

“A campaign like this takes that need off of us to worry about that. It enables us to focus on the other things that have to go in the hampers. We really appreciate it,” Marson says.

Faulkner says you can drop off rolls at the food bank, in the food bank bins at area grocery stores, Allison the Bookman, The Davedi Club or Fire Station One on Princess Street.

You can also send an e-transfer to tpnorthbay1@gmail.com or go to www.northbayfoodbank.ca/donate and add TPNorthBay in the comment section with your donation.

Faulkner says they have a goal of 20,000 rolls. The campaign ends at the end of October.

Meantime, Marson says despite the hoarding in the spring of toilet paper there was never a shortage for food bank clients thanks to community support.

“We had two community members that made sure we were taken care of. They don’t want their names mentioned. I really appreciate what they did. Infact, one said I will make sure you have what you need,” she says.
