We also hear an adorable voice at the beginning of the song and as it turns out, that’s Harry’s 5-year old goddaughter Ruby Winston, daughter of British filmmaker Ben Winston, “It’s my goddaughter at the start of the song.  That streak of calling me every night before bed and I missed it once and she wanted to let me know that she was quite angry with me about it.  And then I dug it up in the studio one day and added it to the start of the song, and it just kind of stuck.  I loved it.”

When it comes to the inspiration behind his new record, Harry says it’s all about ‘personal experience,’ “I try and write from personal experience for almost everything.  So, I think over the last couple of years with the forced pause that happened for a long time for all of us, I think I had a lot of time to kind of think about work, who I was, away from music and get a little more comfortable with that.  I think that allowed me to make this album from a very liberated place.”

Chatting with Sirius XM’s The Morning Mash Up on Friday (April 1), he opened up about his new album, Harry’s House“I feel like it’s the first time I’m making music and putting music out from a real place of personal freedom.  That is a really liberating place to be creating from and now putting it out.  So, the process for me as been easily the most joyous of anything that I’ve experienced so far while making music,” he says.

“I think it’s inevitable that if you’re gonna make something that you care so much about, you’re gonna feel pressure and a lot of vulnerability when putting it out.  And I feel very lucky that this is the proudest I’ve been of something that I’ve made so far.  I feel the most comfortable I’ve been with myself and happiest with what I’m making,” he continues.

Harry added, “I think if you are an artist and you’re making something, there’s always gonna be part of you that is questioning yourself and questioning the work. And, and I think that can be a good thing if use it the right way.”

Harry was then asked to name ‘three things he’ll always find in his house’ (because Harry’s House is the album title), “That’s a great question.  The three things I’ll always find, I would say, a coffee pot. I would say music, I guess like nice pair of headphones. And a candle, maybe a nice scented candle.”

Harry’s upcoming album, Harry’s House, is expected to drop on May 20, with a 13-song tracklist.
