A collision on Saturday between an SUV and an ambulance has resulted in a charge under the Highway Traffic Act for the SUV driver.

North Bay OPP say an ambulance, with it’s lights and sirens activated, stopped at the red light at Algonquin and McKeown Avenue, then slowly proceeded through the intersection, when it was struck by the SUV.

Police say the SUV collided with the back end of the passenger side of the ambulance.

The emergency vehicle then slide across the lane and struck a pole.

Four passengers were in the back of the ambulance, including a patient.

No word if there were any injuries because of the collision.

 

North Bay OPP say charges have been filed after two separate domestic disputes on Saturday.

First, they say a 40 year old Powassan man is facing assault, uttering threats and mischief counts after one incident.

The second incident in Pringle Township, resulted in a 53 year old man being charged with a couple of assault counts.
