The North Bay Battalion begin their playoff run tonight on the road against Niagara.

The IceDogs are heavily favoured, having collect 30 more points than the Battalion during the regular season.

But, Troops assistant coach Adam Dennis says North Bay knows they can beat the IceDogs because they’ve done it.

“Our guys have to believe we can win. I think we’re getting there. Our guys are starting to feel it. We’ve beaten them twice this season and our guys believe they’re going to do it again,” he says.

He says their goal is to make the Ice Dogs uncomfortable and feel the pressure.

Broadcast time tonight for game one on Country 600 CKAT is 6:55 pm.

Meantime, the OHL coaches poll is out.

In the East, Battalion Captain Justin Brazeau was named the ‘most dangerous player in the goal area’.  He’s second in ‘best shot’ and third in both the ‘smartest player’ and ‘best shootout shooter’ categories.

Troops forward Brad Chenier was third in the best body checker category.

The Powassan Voodoos are back in action tonight for game four of their NOJHL playoff series with Kirkland Lake.

The Voodoos lead the series 2-1 after a 2-1 loss to the Gold Miners last night.

Tomas Yachmanev scored the lone goal for Powassan.

Tonight’s game starts at 7 pm at the Sportsplex.
