Two city residents, a 59 year old man and a 45 year old woman, are facing extortion and forcible confinement charges after police were called to a McIntyre Street East residence on Monday.

Police say a woman ended up being held against her will after a dispute at the home of two people she knows.

At one point she was allowed to use the phone which resulted in the police being alerted to the situation.

Officers attended the residence and she was safely removed without any injuries.

 

Meantime, city police continue to investigate a single vehicle crash near the end of Tower Drive on Saturday.

Police say they responding to a vehicle fire around 5:30 pm and found a 2007 Volkswagen Touareg completely engulfed in flames when they arrived on the scene.

No one was seen in the area.
