The North Bay Battalion are on the road for three games this weekend, looking to snap a seven game losing streak.

The Troops are in London tonight, Windsor tomorrow and Sarnia on Sunday.

Coach Stan Butler is maintaining a patient approach heading into the weekend.

“We have to keep working at it and stay with the process. The boys are working hard in practice. We’re a young team and it’s going to take us a while to get it right. Eventually, it will click in and we’ll be fine,” he says.

He says the team needs to be more consistent shift to shift, period to period and game to game.

“A prime example is the Peterborough game. We score shorthanded halfway in the second to make it 3-2 and the shots are 20-18. But then they score right after that and we finish the period off being outshot 18-0,” Butler says.

The Troops ended up losing the game 8-3.

Brandon Coe will not play tonight due to suspension while Liam Arnsby is still off at the U17 tournament.

David Campbell has been called up from Blind River of the NOJHL.

Broadcast time tonight is 7:20 pm on Country 600 CKAT.

Meantime, former Battalion forward Nick Paul has earned a spot on the Ottawa Senators’ roster.

Paul, who signed a two-way contract in the summer with the Sens and their AHL Affiliate in Belleville, got the good news from Coach DJ Smith after last night’s 3-2 overtime win over the LA Kings.

“Nick Paul they just told me you gotta get a place now,” Smith told the team in his post-game address to the players.

Paul collected an assist on the game-winning goal.

The 24 year old has two goals and four assists in 10 games with Ottawa this season.
