The Highway 17 rivalry between the OHL clubs in North Bay and Sudbury continues the next two nights.

The Battalion host the Wolves tonight at Memorial Gardens, then travel to Sudbury tomorrow.

Coach Ryan Oulahen on the benefits of playing a key rival back to back.

“When you have an opponent back to back we can focus a little bit more on their tendencies and adjust some things in practice. I’m not saying we’re going to change a lot but maybe our mentality can change a little bit,” Oulahen says.

He says it’s also a chance to bring some extra spice to the rivalry.

Battalion Captain Luke Moncada (pictured) is coming off a hat trick in the team’s last game, a 3-1 win over Niagara.

“He’s improved his fitness and he’s gotten bigger and stronger. We always knew he was talented but now he’s come into his own and his confidence is through the roof,” Oulahen says.

Tonight also marks the return to North Bay of former captain Brad Chenier, who was traded to the Wolves earlier this month.

Game time is 7 pm tonight, with the broadcast on Country 600 CKAT starting at 6:50 pm.
