A new local business with a focus on early childhood development is officially opening Wednesday.

Blossom Early Learning is located in the former Tweedsmuir school at 176 Gertrude Street.

Owner Heidi Madsen says they offer parent-child classes that focus on a number of areas of development including language, literacy, fine and gross motor skills and more.

They’re for children newborn to four years of age.

Madsen says the classes are based around early brain research and help support and enhance a child’s natural development.

She says most classes run in the morning or afternoon, but there are some evening classes too.

The grand opening goes from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
