It’s called 100 dollars, from 100 women in 100 hours.

It’s a fundraising initiative started by the North Bay Food Bank.

With this being Domestic Violence Awareness Month the food bank wanted to do something for women who who have been forced to leave their home because they’re in a bad situation and need to start over again. Food Bank chair Katharine Strang says they do provide starter packs but they want to provide additional assistance through this initiative for items like brooms, pots and cutlery.

She says the initiative is from now until Thursday and that’s the 100 hours part.

And they’re looking for 100 women to donate 100 dollars each bringing the total to $10,000.

Strang says donations can be made in person at the food bank or on line at PayPal or CanadaHelps.
