A local project has made the top 30 in the Aviva community fund competition.

The local project entitled Keeping the Cancer journey close to home in one of 10 community health finalists.

The North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation’s entry points out the government does not fund medical equipment — and that community support is needed for equipment purchases for the hospital.

Up to a million dollars will be donated to projects across Canada.

The grand prize winners will be announced on December 6th.

Meantime, the other local project the library expansion in Powassan did not make the top 30.

Aviva says they received 3 Million votes overall.
