Earlier this week, Innovation Initiatives Ontario North announced that the start up companies they’ve been involved with have created 128 jobs in North Bay.

This of course runs counter to the Canadian Federation of Independent Business survey which placed North Bay 2nd from the bottom in regards to starting and growing businesses.

Several new business leaders spoke about how North Bay has a good economic climate for starting a business.

Mayor Al McDonald says it was good to hear.

He thinks the survey motivated these business leaders to say North Bay is a great place to do businesses and that was very heartwarming to heat.

McDonald says just because major announcements aren’t being made doesn’t mean jobs aren’t being created by start up businesses here.

He says there is business growth happening here and it’s important to keep promoting that fact to people in the 905 and 416 area codes and around the world.
