If there’s a casino in North Bay it will be built by Gateway Casinos and Entertainment.

They have been selected by Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation to build facilities in North Bay and Kenora provided all the required approvals are met including the province.

Gateway has also received the contract to operate 9 other facilities including OLG Casinos in Thunder Bay and Sault Ste Marie and OLG Slots in Sudbury.

That will happen in the spring of next year.

OLG says they work with Gateway to ensure they have a smooth transition including a requirement for Gateway to retain employees for a period of no less than 12 months.

OLG says it will continue to manage gaming in the bundles and uphold the standards of its Responsible Gambling program.
