Children’s Aid Society Workers in Nipissing and Parry Sound districts have strongly rejected a contract offer.

In a release from CUPE, 96 per cent of 120 workers who voted turned down the deal.

CUPE  says the offer didn’t address the issues that hinder the delivery of high quality child welfare services in the north.

The union says the pressure is now on the CAS to resume negotiations.

A December 23rd strike or lockout date has been set.

The union says workload is the major issue.
