There seems to a theme recently in the North Bay Police crime stats.

The numbers as of the end of October continue to show a decline year to year in a number of areas including sexual offenses, assaults, robberies, break, enter and thefts, drug charges and total criminal offenses but around 1,100 more police calls.

Deputy Chief Scott Tod says although offenses are down by about 260 that doesn’t mean officers aren’t busy answering calls.

He says they haven’t captured everything in the numbers like investigating cyber crime and domestic violence incidents because there aren’t always charges in those cases.

The stats say assaults are down by 48, sexual offenses by 30 and drug charges by 28.
