budgetThe city is hoping to find more efficiencies in the 2015 budget and for that they turned to the Police Services Board.

City officials met with the Board yesterday (Tuesday), and the results of those talks are expected later today (Wednesday).

Council had previously asked all the ABC’s to possibly come in under 2.5%.

Police Chief Paul Cook says, in their town hall meetings with the public, the message is the residents want more service and protection, not less.

The Police Service previously presented their budget of a 2.5% increase over 2014’s figures.

Meantime, Cook says they had a $160,000 surplus from 2014.

Cook says those savings will go towards their reserves.
