North Bay snowboarder with first Burton US Open podium finish

Quite the weekend for North Bay’s Tyler Nicholson.

The Team Canada member placed 3rd at the Burton U.S. Open Snowboarding Championship, in slopestyle, claiming his first podium finish at the longest running, premier snowboarding event.  

The world’s best snowboarders all come together for the Vail, Colorado event each year.

Yuki Kadono from Japan won the event while Fellow Canadian Mark McMorris earned 2nd place.
