canned foodThe North Bay Food Bank won’t be located on Hammond Street in the near future.

Board chair Katharine Strang says in about a month they will have moved into their new digs at 1016 Fisher Street, at Princess.

She says they’ve been busy doing renovations in the new building for a while now and are excited about opening their new doors soon.

Strang says they’ll be able to house everything in the new structure as is now not the case as they have office space in other buildings.

She says they’re very excited about the impending move. Strang says the new signage is up and the food bank’s logo is on their new front door.

She says the new building is 2,400 square feet. That’s about 600 square feet more than the Hammond location.

Strang says this facility will be easier for their clients as there will be a wheelchair accessible ramp, lobby and washrooms.
