CUPE urging MPP's to pass Bill 188

Bill 188 was introduced last month and it would give seniors in long-term care homes more hands on nursing.

President of the North Bay and District Labour Council Henri Giroux says it this bill gets passed it would be a big step in the right direction for seniors care.

He says every senior would be able to get four hours of care per day, every day.

Giroux says right now there is no standard regulation in place.

He says CUPE members are at Queens Park today urging their MPP’s to pass this bill.

Giroux adds the Fourth day of every month people are asked to dress in blue in support of this bill.

He says they also ask all residents to put in a call to their sitting member and urge them to pass this bill.
