Federal government officials have started a cross country swing selling their budget.

On Tuesday, the Parliamentary Secretary to the Federal Minister of Finance New Brunswick MP Ginette Petitpas Taylor and MP Anthony Rota met with 32 stakeholders from a cross section of area communities.

They included North Bay, Temagami, Kirkland Lake, East Ferris and Bonfield.

Petitpas Taylor says infrastructure projects was a key issue that was discussed.

She says they had a constructive conversation about what was in the budget and says the feeling from the stakeholders is it’s a positive budget.

The event was held at Discovery North Bay and Petitpas Taylor says it was an important exercise because they get real feedback from community leaders in major cities and smaller communities.

She says it is important to tell stakeholders what Ottawa is doing, but to also get their input and bring the message back to cabinet.
