The newest member of the city’s Police Services Board was sworn in on Wednesday.

City Councillor Mac Bain replaces Deputy Mayor Sheldon Forgette.

He says he will be an active member once he learns more.

Bain says if he has questions for the Chief or Deputy Chief he will ask the important questions so he gets the answers.

He says policing has changed in recent years and it’s just not about arrests and charges but also about working with community organizations to help people in the community who are dealing with challenges.

Bain says two such examples are the Community Hub and the Mobile Crisis team.
